Raya Gate Closure

Fot reasons of beefing up the security during the Hari Raya festive, Zone B2's access via road SS22/42 will be closed from 8~11 Aug. Gate will be opened again Mon 12th Aug at 7am onwards.

Sound Dampeners along LDP flyover

Somehow and with not much reason Litrak did the correct thing: by erecting sound dampeners along the flyover which was initially promised but then long overdue.

Why it took so long? This should be their top most priority! Was it because of pressure by DOE after our 2~3 complaints to the Department with the sound study evidence?

A friend's neighbour in DJ zone A got robbed in front of her hse last night, man on motorbike despite having guards.

Need to warn our guards not to let ppl on motorbikes in unless they can prove legitimate purpose of visit and/or business.

Please be careful getting in/out of your hse too

Providing a pleasant and comfort journey on Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong has always been one of the objectives of LITRAK in all of its highway enhancement projects.

In line with that, LITRAK will be closing the Toll Plaza 'A' (from Sunway to Puchong/KESAS bound) to all class of vehicles to facilitate the Traffic Studies which will be carried out from 17-21 June 2013 (Monday – Friday) from 6.00 am to 10.00 am. Highway users from Sunway heading towards Puchong/KESAS are advised to use Toll Plaza 'B' to their respective destination.

Highway users are advised to follow the signs posted and Litrak would like to apologize to highway users for any inconvenience caused. For any traffic info, please call our LDP Helpline at 03-7494 7333.

承包商马虎清河道 淤泥堆河岸居民怕水灾

  水利灌溉局的承包商把河床里挖出的淤泥堆积在河岸， 一旦下雨就流回河中。

（吉隆坡1日讯）水利灌溉局承包商马虎清理河道工程，在挖掘河床后，却将淤泥堆在河岸，居民担心下雨时淤泥会流入河中，继而引发水灾。

早前在白沙罗乌达马大淹水事件获得水利灌溉局的关注及承诺在卡尤阿拉河进行河道清理工程，但是其委任的承包商工作态度草率，仅将河床里挖出的淤泥，甚至是枯树堆积在河岸。

当地居民发现此情况后，感到不满，于是向百乐镇区候任州议员杨美盈投诉，希望有关当局能够敦促承包商继续工程。

杨美盈今天连同居民一同实地考察，她指出，若是下雨时，堆积在河岸的淤泥若冲回到河中，并没有解决到该区淹水的问题。

她指出，当地的居民昨日已把对此事的投诉信件呈交给水利灌溉局，不过她今天也会以州议员的身分发信给当局，一来促承包商继续展开工程，二来促他们把堆积在河岸的淤泥清理，同时并要建筑河提，以防止淹水事件重演。

不过她强调，她呈交信件的用意并非责怪水利灌溉局，而是希望他们能够继续工程。

恐捷运工程加剧坍塌 居协盼修复河堤

SS21花园居民协会主席拉杰斯解释，卡尤阿拉河在下大雨时，水位上升得很快，这造成在4月杪发生前所未有的水灾，水淹至路面，并涉及到42A区住宅单位。

承包商应认真看待

他指出，在淹水事件发生后，水利灌溉局主任拿督阿末胡沙尼与居民会面，并由其代表嘉马委派现在的承包商。

“水利灌溉局的承包商工作态度并不是我们想要的，我希望该局能够确保他们认真工作。”

他也希望该局也一并修复卡尤阿拉河倒塌逾两年时的河堤，因为下个星期起这里就要开始捷运工程，这工程将会加剧河堤倒塌的现象。

另外，他也希望当局把堆积在河岸的淤泥搬走，并且种植树木，以防止河岸再受侵蚀。

3rd Meeting with MRT (on site of Pillar 08 + 09)

The event was on 30th May, Thursday at 5.30pm. It was a very good session. Many residents showed up.

All parties from KVMRT were present i.e. MRT Corp, MGJV (PDP), and Mudajaya (main contractor).

Discussions were in reference to concerns brought up during the #2nd Meeting. There were impromptu Q+A with residents particularly with those staying nearer to the track.

Some additional concerns were raised. The main one was about the clearing of land and cutting of the old trees. Residents request MRT to start planting back some fast growing trees (monocotyledon types e.g. Bamboo, Palm, etc) around the perimeter barricade to "Green" back the area. These Greens, besides from being able to improve the aesthetic surrounding, can also greatly help to act as natural Silt Traps, Noise Dampener, and to reduce reflected heat from the metal barricade and barren surrounding.

Session adjourned at around 7pm with parties promising to come back on some outstanding issues. Also we have agreed to hold another follow up meeting (#4th Session) sometime in Sept '13 ie after Hari Raya.

Key timeliness for the project that will affect us is the construction of the pillars. This is anticipated to start by around Aug '13~Sept '13. The next follow up session then will be timely.

Residents want solution for Sungai Kayu Ara’s erosion problem

THE banks along Sungai Kayu Ara, particularly behind Jalan SS21/42A, are eroding and residents are worried about flashfloods occurring the next time there is a downpour and the river overflows.

“Residents have been complaining to the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) about this problem for the past 10 years but nothing was done until recently when the department promised to send a contractor to carry out remedial works last week.

“However, this also came to nothing as the contractor failed to show up,” said Damansara Utama Residents and Owners Association president Rajes Patel.

He said residents found this out when they called the DID to check and were told that the previous contractor’s services had been terminated and a new one appointed.

The residents were told the new contractor would come yesterday to rectify the problem.
 

“Once again, no one came,” said Rajes.
The residents also said that during the recent rainy spell, water levels at the river had risen.

“Luckily, we are in the middle of a dry spell.

“Otherwise, we have to worry about floods,” he said.

Damansara Utama assemblyman Yeo Bee Yin said besides Jalan SS21/42A, Kampung Cempaka, which was further downstream, was also at risk of flashfloods due to erosion problems at Damansara Utama.
“Currently, the short-term plans that residents discussed with DID involve dredging the river bed, which has become shallow due to silt.

“However, a long-term, holistic plan is needed to resolve the problem,” said Yeo.

She said additional funding from the Federal Government would be necessary for this, adding that the Selangor DID only had a budget of RM50mil, allocated for maintenance of all the rivers in the state.
Residents M. Selvaraj and Phyllis Teh said the collapsed section previously had a gabion wall to check erosion, but it had since been washed away.

“In fact, a tree, that was uprooted when the banks collapsed seven years ago and fell into the river is still found stuck there.

“This says a lot about the lack of maintenance,” said Teh.

A call to the state DID revealed that the new contractor had already received his letter of appointment and had been given approximately one month to repair the collapsed banks as well as dredge the river bed.

This is to inform that Yeo Bee Yin (ADUN for Damansara Utama) be visiting the river site at SS 21/42A, Damansara Utama,  together with the residents with reported rising river level issue and a promised project to start by JPS on 13 May but still no action taken.
