DUROA Health day planned with BP Healthcare Group

HEALTH TALK & SCREENING 

On Sunday, 2nd November 2014, DUROA and BP HEALTHCARE GROUP (BPHG) organized a HEALTH TALK & SCREENING at our Dewan Serbaguna, Damansara Utama.

The weather was on our side as it was a cool morning perfect for our activity as the BPHG's  Mobile Van was parked just outside the hall to conduct  free BODY COMPOSITION ANALYSIS (BCA) for our DU residents.

As early as 8:30am, residents slowly made their way to register and get their goody bag and BCA done. BP HEALTHCARE GROUP staff were there after your screening to explain their results and advise them accordingly on diet and exercise appropriate for them according to their age and medical history. DUROA also prepared Nasi Lemak packets, curry puffs and water for all attendees.

At 9:00 am, our DUROA President, Mr Rajes Patel, welcomed YB Yeo Bee Yin, Mr Joey Beh (Deputy MD of BPHG), Tan Sri Dr M Jegathesan (Clinical Director of BPHG) and all present.

At 9:30am, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DUROA and BPHG was signed. This MoU is an agreement between DUROA and BPHG to provide Basic & Head-to-Toe Health Screening, Diagnostic Tests, Ultrasound Procedures and BP Nutridos & Propriety Products at discounted rates of 10% - 15% for DU residents bearing DU address in the ICs.

The following Health Talks were given :-

1).  Chronic Kidney Disease by Dr Loh Hoong Shen (Physician)

2).  Allergy Rhinitis & Sinusitis by Dr Ong Chun Chiang (ENT Specialist)

3).  Introduction to Sleep Apnea by Mr William Cheah (Pharmacist & Sleep Business Development Manager)

After every talk, the speaker answered questions posed by residents. 

The goody bag had BPHG's booklet and brochures on the following :-

1).  CT Lung Screening

2).  ENT Head & Neck Cancer Screening

3).  Nutrition and Dietetic Services

4).  Head 2 Toe Screening

5).  Marker Test for Specific Tumour

6). Obesity

7).  Thalassemia
